Dalit Dasta Virodi Andolan ("Dalit's Movement Against Servitude")

Our Mission :

Our Mission is to strive for the congruence of the forces of development, equal opportunity, freedom and dignity of life, to restore basic human rights, to fight out caste discrimination and to obliterate the scourge of bonded labour system.

Vision :

A society without exploitation which is based on principles of freedom, equality & justice.

Aims and Objectives :

	To generate social and legal awareness among the rural poor and migrant workers in order to broad base and strengthen the movement against bonded labour system.
	To build organizational structure right from the grassroots level to protect the basic rights of unorganized workers especially the bonded labour, marginalized women workers and children in servitude in the light of the Constitutional guarantees.
	To work for capacity-building, empowerment and socio-economic upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden.

VSJ in its long and arduous journey of fighting for social justice organizes marches, dharnas, rallies, padyatras etc. to create awareness among the victims of bondage and the civil society at large. Involvement of media and the local administration through social awareness programme aims at mass mobilization and policy advocacy. The organization designs and develops campaign at state and national levels to highlight the issue of bonded labour and the violation of basic human rights.
